About this property

Welcome to Hotel Templo Mayor

Located just steps from the bustling Zócalo plaza in Mexico City’s historic center, Hotel Templo Mayor occupies a 19th-century building with a tranquil courtyard that offers a quiet retreat from the busy streets. The property features relaxed rooms equipped with free Wi-Fi and a bar, catering to guests looking for simple accommodations without on-site dining or extensive amenities.

The hotel’s setting is ideal for those interested in exploring key cultural landmarks like the Palacio de Bellas Artes, Templo Mayor Museum, and Constitution Plaza, all within easy walking distance. Reviews highlight the advantageous location for sightseeing and the overall cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff, although some mention that noise from the surrounding area and plumbing can affect comfort, and that unit air-conditioning and restaurant services are not available.

Facilities at this pet- and kid-friendly hotel focus on accessibility and convenience rather than luxury, with no parking, fitness center, or airport shuttle. The location is great just behind the Zocalo, you can walk to all tourists places in the historical center. (This is not the best location at night however, almost everything is closed even restaurants). Service is very good (knowing few words of Spanish help as half of the staff does not speak English, but is helpful and welcoming anyway). The main shortfall I believe, is the sound the pipes do. We were on the first floor and everything 5 minutes we could hear very loud noises coming from the pipe system.

Front lady was pleasant. She had our room ready for our requested early check in. Beds were comfortable. Was able to sleep during the day with ear plugs in (not too noisy). Location was lovely too....if you want to see the historic district.

Stayed here during F1, 4 nights. I always like staying close to the center of the (Aztec) universe (the Zocalo), so location is 10/10. Very clean, well run hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff. No restaurant or AC, but that didn't matter to me. In late October. Bring earplugs if you sleep with open window, CDMX is 24/7 noisy. No safes in rooms but there is one in Office. Staff very trustworthy, I left money out for 5 days not a penny missing. Zero regrets staying here. Nice rooftop patio to drink on. Thanks for the hospitality!!

Nice hotel, very friendly staff, spotlessly clean. Location is very close to Zocalo and historical sites, but the street the hotel is on is very loud during the daytime. At night there are only a few restaurants open nearby, and the whole area gets very quiet. Rooftop terrace is also very nice.

We stayed two nights at this hotel. The location is very close to the Zocalo and the attractions near by. We arrived at about 2pm when the market bustling with activity which was somewhat of a culture shock which took a moment to assimilate. The hotel is clean and feels safe. We got a corner room on the third floor with a king bed and a set bunk beds which my kids liked. The room was was well ventilated with plenty natural light. I liked the windows because when you close them it shuts off most of the city noise. I definitely do recommend this nice and simple hotel with very affordable rates.

Pretty good location, allowed for a late check in. Kind of hard to find at night though.. got a private room and it’s relatively big with a nice big bed. Shower is decent and pretty warm. Lots of outlets, some with usb plug ins directly in the wall which is nice. Great place to stay to go walking

This hotel is all about location. It could be a great experience but they're making money as it is so why change. The rooms and beds are garbage but i knew what i booked going in. You stay here because of the location and nothing else. We ended up relocating due to the abismal comfort of the rooms. I mean we only slept here but damn it's not worth it. Do your self a favor and walk a little longer and get a nice hotel with a decent bed.
